Family Sculpture

Family is a commissioned piece representing the patron’s young growing family — hand carved in Vermont marble.

Our client wanted a sculpture with some personal meaning that could be passed down to his children. We collaborated with the client to arrive at the concept of growth and life to exemplify his growing family. The resulting artwork was a technical and emotional success that will embody the unity of the client’s family forever. The finished piece was placed on a concrete pedestal in a roughly 20' x 20' area nestled in a Hemlock grove.

Family is a commissioned piece representing the patron’s young growing family — hand carved in Vermont marble.

Our client wanted a sculpture with some personal meaning that could be passed down to his children. We collaborated with the client to arrive at the concept of growth and life to exemplify his growing family. The resulting artwork was a technical and emotional success that will embody the unity of the client’s family forever. The finished piece was placed on a concrete pedestal in a roughly 20' x 20' area nestled in a Hemlock grove.

The sculpture was in conjunction with an entire renovation. Sight lines to the sculpture grove were created by opening the side of the house with new thermally rated french doors and replacing a bulky patio railing with an nearly invisible stainless cable system. Shrubs and bushed were replaced with decorative ground cover and a stone walkway was installed to lead to a seating area at the center of the grove where the sculpture would be installed.

Our intention was ultimately to elevate the artwork to jewel status in the mind our client and in turn we were able to not only achieve that goal but we also reaped the timeless reward of developing a lasting friendship with our client and other passionate professionals who made it all happen.
